Parnell Painting is a small, locally owned painting company based in Nanaimo, B.C., proudly operated by long-time residents Jack and Audrey Parnell.
Our Story
Jack has worked with paint in some capacity for most of his professional life. Before starting Parnell Painting in 2003, he spent years as a sales representative and store manager for a major paint company. He also worked as the lead painter at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise for four years — a role that refined his attention to detail and appreciation for quality finishes.
Jack’s background and extensive product knowledge ensure that each project gets the right materials, preparation, and application methods for lasting results.
Audrey is a third-generation painter, following in the footsteps of her father and grandfather. She grew up around the trade, helping her father with his painting business. In Parnell Painting’s early years, Audrey painted part-time while also working as a pharmacy technician. In 2007, she joined Jack full-time.
Along with her painting expertise, Audrey brings a strong eye for design and colour. She also created and maintains the Parnell Painting website and has taken all of the photos you’ll see throughout it.

Over the years, we’ve worked on a wide variety of projects — from rental properties to new construction homes, but we specialize in interior and exterior repaints of existing homes, including houses, townhomes, patio homes, and condos.

What Are We Up To When We Are Not Painting?
When we’re not painting houses we enjoy cooking, gardening and traveling. In our younger years, we took a year and a half off to travel through Africa, Asia, and Europe — a true adventure that sparked our love for travel. Audrey is likely to be holding a camera when she is not weilding a paint brush and Jack enjoys dabbling in woodworking in his leisure time. Our hobbies keep us inspired, curious, and energized — the same energy we bring to every project.
