This large house was ready for its first repaint since being built. The paint on all the surfaces including the hardie board siding, wood trim and especially the overhead garage doors was very weathered and faded. As you can see in the before photo below on the left there’s not a lot of difference between the trim work and siding. The whole house looks very lack luster
To give the house more contrast we came up with a new colour scheme. We used a green/grey for the body colour and to compliment it the trim is a creamy light grey with a slight green undertone. There are several sets of French doors and other access doors that are also painted in the light grey. To add more interest we used a third colour slightly lighter than the siding for the board and batten gables. The photo below is another example of the drastic difference between the before and after.
A big impact was added to the front entry by painting the grand set of double doors and the surrounding trim work in a deep charcoal. In certain light it shows a bit of a blue undertone.
The colour of the doors makes a real statement in the entry.
