This was one of our favorite painting makeovers because we were able to create such a dramatic change. The home’s exterior wood siding was still in overall good condition, but it was faded and tired looking. Prior to our arrival the owner added trim work around the windows to make them appear more substantial and give the house some character. We painted the full interior after the owner did a few upgrades including replacing all of the older style trim with a modern flat stock. The trim work, fascia boards, wood soffits, deck railings and posts were painted in a warm white colour and the siding was painted with an attractive gray colour. The gutters and downspouts were painted the siding colour to make them blend in.
The owner added a large double front door with side lights. Nothing more was done to the door and trim work than applying a clear coat to bring out the beauty of the wood. A larger deck was built that we stained gray to match the house and the railings were done in white to match the trim work on the house. The final touch was adding new landscaping including shrubs, plants and bark mulch. The amount of money spent doing these improvements was well worth it. There’s no question of whether the house value has increased and look at the great curb appeal!
