A number of years ago we did some interior painting for the owner of this farm house. We were called back to do the full exterior, including the siding, wood soffits, fascia boards, trim work, decks and the matching garage. The work was well overdue. We had to do a lot of scraping and sanding to remove the peeling and flaking paint.
The owner wanted us to repaint with the same dark brown trim colour, but asked if we could tone down the yellow siding. The two photos below show the before and after colour of the siding. We used a colour that still has a warm golden undertone, but less yellow.
It was a pleasure to work on such a peaceful property. We found three occupied bird nests. Two were in shrubs next to the house and one in the soffit on the garage. We had to do some modifications to how and when we painted so that we caused as little disturbance to hatchlings and their parents as possible.
