The owners of this 1950’s home wanted to do a colour change prior to moving in. Earthy tones were chosen for the main living area, hallway, kitchen and bedrooms. They wanted different colours throughout the rooms, but wanted to make sure they complimented each other. Tones of grey, brown and green were chosen. They all worked well together because of the common green undertone that each colour shares.
The living room had light peach walls with an olive green colour in the coved portion of the ceiling. We re-painted the walls and cove in the same green/grey colour. This gives the room a more unified look and an illusion of greater wall height. The same colour was carried into the hallway leading from the living area to the bedrooms.
The kitchen was painted a mid-tone grey that worked well with the existing tile backsplash, countertops and stainless steel appliances.
The owners wanted darker walls in the bedrooms. They went from yellow to a deep brown. The beautiful white coved ceilings look great with the new colour.
